This is our list of our 20 favourite fun activities to do in the South of France.

The Aqualand water park in the beach resort of Cap d'Agde in Southern France, was the first water park built in France. Aqualand is a good day out for all the kids in France. It is not cheap, but the rides are good and you can easily spend all day here. Over the years we have taken our boys to Aqualand in Cap d'Agde a number of times. 

The Sigean African Safari park, South of France, is very well laid out and has all the animals you can think of: Lions, Giraffes, Rhinos, Gorillas, Elephants (my son Archie's favourite), Emus with attitude and lots and lots of  Monkeys. If you are looking to spend a good day out in South of France with the kids, then Sigean Safari park is the ideal choice.

The Meze Dinosaur Museum is the largest museum in the South of France devoted entirely to dinosaurs. The park is well laid-out and there is lots of information. It is a great way to spend a full day with the kids on those hot South of France summer days. 

If you are looking for a cheap day out with the kids or grandchildren in France, then Montpellier zoo is sure to fit the bill. Montpellier zoo is set in a shaded park on the northern edge of the city. The zoo offers a surprisingly wide choice of animals to see in nice big enclosures. 

Le Petit Paradis is a real gem of an animal park/farm in South France, situated between Montpellier and Nimes, Le Petit Paradis park is set amongst the beautiful landscaped gardens and you can discover a real oasis here. The zoo is situated in a large wood close to Nice airport on the outskirts of Nice. There is a giant lake with fountains, as well as a giant greenhouse that accommodates the tropical plants. This zoo in Nice, France, is a great place to take the kids.

Aquasplash Cote d'Azur is one of the newest water parks in South France. It is located in Antibes, in between Cannes and Nice on the french Riviera coast. Aquasplash is part of a giant waterpark complex that also encompasses an Aquarium (Marineland), a children's theme park (Kids Island) and golf course. The park is well laid-out and seems to cater more for under 13 children. 

In my opinion, one of the best zoos in the South of France is located in the heart of the beautiful Provence countryside. Barben zoo, is located close to the village of Pélissane, in between Salon de Provence and Aix-en-Provence in South France. The zoo is extremely well laid out and encompasses over 9kms of trails and a great selection of animals.

La Castille Ecopark Adventure centre is set in dense forest in the hills above Toulon, South France. Ecopark specialises in tree climbing adventures, involving abseiling, tree canopy walks and rope ladders.
