The area features ancient forests, limestone cliffs, beautiful Chateaux and stunning villages such as Domme, La Roque-Gageac and Sarlat.

The local area is a haven for food & wine lovers. The regional wines of Bordeaux, Cahors and Bergerac are well-known outside of France, but you also need to discover the wines of Monbazillic and Pécharment. The region provides many culinary treats including wild mushrooms, truffles, walnuts, as well as fois gras, cheese and various duck dishes. With many local markets to choose from, you can find some excellent fresh local ingredients to bring home and cook up.

There is a range of local activities to undertake, including a superb 18 hole golf-course within a short drive; some beautiful local walking routes (including the famous GR 46 route); as well as plenty of local bike hire services where you can enjoy the excellent cycling routes in the area.

The Dordogne valley is also a fantastic family friendly area, full of fun leisure activities for kids. They can canoe or swim in the river, which is quite safe and shallow. For kids in need of thrills, they can splash in a waterpark with water slides, swimming pools, trampolines and bouncy castles in Quercyland.
