Area activities

The town of Puissalicon is one of the many hilltop villages in the area that are built on a circular road pattern (known as “circulades”). IN the centre of the village you will find the original chateau and gothic church with romanesque tower. Just a few steps from the house there is a well-stocked local shop, with a larger Intermarché supermarket just 1 km away. In the village you will find a boutique wine shop, bakery, and weekly market stalls.

Just 20 minutes through vineyards to the east, you will find the historic town of Pézenas, with its artistic community, fine dining, and impressive gothic mansions. Pézenas is blessed with fine architechture from its time as the capital of the Languedoc. It is a hotspot for antiques, and the Saturday market is considered the finest in the Languedoc region, with local produce, cheeses, meats, breads, wines and household goods offering a memorable Saturday experience.

The Orb and Hérault river valleys offer great canoeing and the Parc Régional du Haut-Languedoc provides some excellent cycling and hiking trails. The dune-backed beaches of Portiragnes Plage offer sailing and surfing facilities.
