Domaine de Pradines is a 120 year-old French farmhouse for long term rental  in the Corbieres region of South France. The property is located on the outskirts of  St Andre de Roquelongue, a quiet village just 30 minutes from Narbonne and the Mediterranean beaches. The property is situated in a peaceful valley, surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills. This large long term rental property comes with 3/4 bedrooms, enclosed garden, private heated pool, WiFi and parking. The property is available for long term rentals between October to May from €900pcm + bills. Longer rental periods (12+ months) may also be considered. Pets accepted at the Owner´s discretion.

This 5 bedroom holiday home in France can sleep 12-13 people and is ideal for 2-3 families on holiday together or a smaller family group. The holiday home has been lovingly restored in a typical French style (with exposed stone walls and oak beams) but it also features a modern with open living space (over 2,500 square feet). The house is also well equipped for family entertainment with Wi-Fi, TV, table tennis table, mountain bikes, table football, magnetic darts board and many other games.The large pribate pool and garden is perfect for sunbathing and also features a BBQ and kids play area.

This lovely long term rental property in South France, was once part of a large famrhouse building and is laid out over 3 floors.

On the ground floor there is a garage, a utility room with a washing machine, plus an additional bedroom (which the Owner keeps locked for storing personal items).

On the first floor there is a lovely open plan living room comprising the kitchen, lounge and dining area.

The large open plan kitchen, features stone walls, original beams, a breakfast table and a good range of appliance. There is a kitchen table and a wood burning stove. The kitchen has lovely views over the swimming pool and over towards the hills in the distance. The kitchen provides access out onto the sun terrace, perfect for a morning coffee. 

The large open-plan living room is organised around a traditional open fireplace The lounge has all the modern comforts including HD satellite TV (UK channels), a good Wi-Fi connection, DVD player and stereo. In the dining area there is a large table and chairs, with double French doors leading to the outside.

On this floor there is a spacious double bedroom and a family bathroom with a large corner bath, walk in shower and toilet.. 

On the top floor there is a spacious mezzanine which has a gallery looking down over the kitchen and living room. The Mezzanine doubles as a games room, office and additional sleeping space for guests (with 4 single beds, ideal for children. Next to the Mezzanine area there are 2 double bedrooms and a lovely modern bathroom with walk-in shower, wash basin and toilet.  All the bedrooms have lovely views and come with additional heating. 

Outside: there is large swimming pool (8m x 4m)  that can be heated upon request for a small fee. The pool is surrounded by a spacious sun terrace. There are 2 large parasols and plenty of sun loungers. On the first floor terrace there is a patio table with 10 chairs and a BBQ. The garden has ample shade from the overhanging maple tree and includes a swing for children and enough space for them to run around quite freely. From all points of the garden, there are wonderful views over the vineyards towards the Corbieres hills beyond. The gravelled driveway will take several cars and one car can be kept inside a lockable garage. Outdoor games are available including table tennis, boules and a swing-ball. At the back of the house are several walks up a small hill with lovely views as well as a mini rock escarpment which can be scrambled up.

Area activities

This lovely long term rental property in South France is located just 2 mins from St Andre de Roquelongue, a popular village which provides a local primary school, bakery, shop, post office, tennis courts and a bar/restaurant. The village is located in the Corbieres wine region, which is home to some of the most exciting wines in Europe. The surrounding mountains hide Cathar castles and sleepy villages surrounded by the most beautiful scenery. There are also lovely fresh water lakes and rivers for swimming and excellent cycle routes and walking trails.

The village is just 25kms to the Mediterranean coast and you have a choice of over 40 beaches to choose from. The local main town is Narbonne, which has a very pretty centre containing Roman remains, an imposing Cathedral and a lovely canal running through the centre. The indoor market in Narbonne is reputed to be the best regional market in the area.

Also nearby you have a number of popular places to visit including the Abbaye de Fontfroide, the pretty village of Lagrasse, Carcassonne with it`s 13th centaury castle and the ancient Cathar village of Minerve.

In the nearby village of Fontjoncouse, there is one of the best restaurants in the South of France. The Auberge de Vieux Puits is run by Gilles Gujon and despite having 3 Michelin stars, it remains unpretentious and simply lets the food do the talking.
