La Maison Francaise is situated on the edge of a medieval hilltop village of St Pons de Mauchiens and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. The villa is just 15 mins from the Mediterranean beaches along the Mediterranean coast.

The house is also well kitted-out for kids with toys and bikes available to use. There are also adult bikes available for your use should you want to cycle through the lush countryside.

Prices are weekly and include linen and towels.. The property has many of the owner`s personal items that whilst you are welcome to use them they must be treated with respect.

Large South of France holiday home - Our opinion:
Last visited December 2023. La Maison Francaise comes with stunning views and all your creature comforts. Sleeping up to 12 people, the holiday home comes with a large open plan living room which opens out onto the terrace. The views from the pool and terrace over the local vineyards are to die for. The property has been recently renovated with 2 brand new bathrooms.
The property provides an unforgettable holiday experience in one of the most picturesque villages in the Languedoc region.
Highly recommended.

Area activities
Maison De Francaise is 15 mins to the coast, and there are several lovely port towns and beaches nearby including Meze and Bouzigues, the oyster centre of the region. The Herault river is 5 mins away, and the historic town of Pezenas is a 10 minute drive. Pezenas has a great market, as does Gignac, 15 mins to the north.
Built up on a rocky spur St Pons de Mauchien is one of those circular villages known as “Circulades” originating in the Middle Ages. Inhabited by prehistoric people (on the site of Roquemengarde in late Neolithic times), it now boasts its 12th and 14th century church, ramparts and picturesque streets and the 14th century former Consul`s house, former castle and residence of the bishops of Adge, and the façade of the Maison desEmigrants (17th c.). 4km from the village, between the Château of Lavagnac and the burg of Bélarga, is the Moulin de Roquemengarde on the banks of the Hérault.
In the village you will find a popular wine bar which serves food.
Other transport
There is a TGV train station at Agde and Beizers. Regular bus services run from both towns to Pezenas.

30% booking deposit to be paid when you confirm your booking, and the remainder 8 weeks before arrival. Until you have paid a deposit, your booking is not absolutely reserved, and you could still lose it. If you cancel less than 4 weeks before your holiday, full fees will be due.
