Le Moulin de Pattus is a beautiful 17th century Water Mill, now converted into 3 high quality gites in South of France, in between Nimes and Montpellier. The gites are situated on a river bank on the edge of the pretty village of Salinelles, which is close to the medieval town of Sommieres. These beautiful gites in South of France come with a heated, infinity pool which overlooks the river. These gites are a short drive (35 minutes) to the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean coast and are within walking distance of a couple of restaurants, a bar and a boulangerie/general store. These gites also come with a games room, adventure playground and mini-football. These gites in South of France also come with wifi internet and UK satellite TV channels.
There are 3 gites for rent at Le Moulin de Pattus in South France. Here we have featured one of the gites to rent called River End gite. This lovely ground floor gite is large and spacious and comes with stunning views of the Vidourle River. The gite comprises 150m2 of living accommodation.
You enter the River End gite into the stunning kitchen-dining room. The kitchen also comes with a sitting area with a sofa in front of the fire - lovely and cosy for winter evenings. The kitchen has an island with a glass worktop which gives you a view down into the original working of the mill and gorgeous old stone floors. The kitchen is equipped with a Smeg double oven, dishwasher and washing machine. The farmhouse dining table can seat 8+ people and has a fabulous view through the floor to ceiling windows over the Vidourle river. French doors from the dining area lead out onto a private terrace, which has uninterrupted views of the river. The terrace is shady and is great for evening dining al fresco. Gated steps from the kitchen take you down to the shared games room. Stairs from the sitting area lead up to the living room. This beautiful airy space features 2 large sofas, arm chairs, coffee table and TV (UK free satellite channels). Glass double doors from the living room go onto a first floor balcony with easy chairs overlooking the pool area.
The River End gite has a huge master bedroom with an extra large bed. The master bedroom also comes with a walk in wardrobe, en suite bathroom and WC. The floor to ceiling windows offer uninterrupted views over the River. The second double bedroom is just off the living room. This bedroom has French doors which lead out onto a balcony overlooking the pool. Next to the bedroom there is a shower room with open roman shower and WC. A single bedroom is located close to the master bedroom and a simple twin bedroom is situated under the eaves of the house. This is reached by passing through the open mezzanine area which has office space and a double sofa bed.
Outside: The River End gite has its own enclosed private terrace, BBQ and garden furniture. Le Moulin de Pattus has 2 hectares of land along the length of the Vidourle river with no neighbours. The uninterrupted countryside views over the Vidourle River, makes this a tranquil location. This is an excellent area for sign posted walks and bike rides from your doorstep.
The heated infinity pool is shared with the other gites and overlooks the river. It has stone entry steps, is fenced and has access to the games room, adventure playground (separately fenced) and mini-football. Bikes (kids and adults), fishing and kayaking are all available as are blow-up pool toys and sit on toys.
Private yoga classes & Shiatsu massage can be booked to have in your gite by a local English speaker and a local professional (English speaking) photographer can be booked for a relaxed family photo - ask reservations for more information.
The prices for these gites in South of France at Salinelles are weekly and include indoor towels, linen and utilities. Swimming towels are available at a small additional cost.

The pretty village of Salinelles is 3km from the beautiful town of Sommieres. This wonderful South France town has a spectacular Roman bridge over the river and lots of medieval architecture. The historic cities of Nimes and Montpellier are both about 30 mins drive away. Nimes has many Roman attractions such as the Arenes - the best preserved amphitheatre in Europe. Montpellier is a wonderful place for shopping, sporting activities and wandering through the narrow streets. The Pont du Gard is the famous and spectacular Roman 3 tier aqueduct is about 1 hour away. Anduze, Quissac, Uzes, Aigues Mortes and Avignon are some of the local towns that you may want to visit in this marvellous corner of South France. You will find many vibrant open air markets, full of local crafts and produce, and also ´brocantes´ which are furniture and antiques markets.
In the summer, Nimes has evening markets with plenty of open air dining in the warm summer nights. The Mediterranean coast is 30 minutes drive away and ou will find long sandy beaches of La Grande Motte. Diving, sailing and wind-surfing opportunities are plentiful along this coast.
