Marseillan is an exceptionally pleasant and attractive small town, one of the few remaining unspoilt harbours in the South of France, lying close to the sea but not on it. The house is located in the inner part of the Marseillan. The Languedoc Coast and beaches are only 5 minutes away by car.
All day to day shopping needs are found in Marseillan through small local shops or supermarkets. Every Tuesday morning there is a market in the square, two minutes from the house, where you can buy local fresh produce, home ware, clothes, flowers and even be entertained by musicians. On Thursdays in July and August there is a craft market from 7pm-midnight down by the harbour. On Saturday and Sunday by the sea front you can browse the Puces Brocantes (flea market) for a variety of goods, old and new.
There are numerous bars, pizzerias, take aways and a range of restaurants within walking distance if you choose to eat out. Many restaurants have regional and seafood specialities.
The Noilly Prat distillery is in Marseillan, by the harbour which makes an interesting visit with tasting to finish. There are opportunities for fishing, water sports and sailing lessons are available. There are three golf courses in this area, at Montpellier, Beziers and Cap D`Agde.

Had the pleasure of staying at this lovely apartment for our summer holiday with the kids in August. Having stayed in nearby Meze the previous summer - we knew Marseillan Port was lovely. However, were pleasantly surprised to find the rest of the town equally charming with great restaurants (including for kids) and fab selection of reasonably priced bars. The apartment was very clean and perfect for a family of four (although would say it could sleep 6 fairly comfortably). The kitchen was very modern, had everything we needed and I really enjoyed cooking meals in it. It was great that the kids (7 and 5 years old) had their own room and bathroom and both bedrooms are double size. It was a nice touch having a jacuzzi bath too! This apartment is the perfect location overlooking the old port (very pretty) but only a 5 minute walk from the rest of the town. The Thursday market is a stone throw's away and great fun for the kids. There was lots going on when we were there including parades round the port and an annual festival which is their take on the water jousting (only where two teams fight it out to be the first to get a hat off the joust - much more entertaining than it sounds!) The beach was great and only a 5 minute drive or 25 mins bike ride away. We actually enjoyed a few evenings wandering around 'the strip' of different (louder, but slightly cheaper) bars and entertainment right by the beach. There were plenty of day trips to do with the kids. We went rope climbing (Accrobranche), canoeing along the Canal du Midi, and a 40 minute rive took us to Narbonne where we enjoyed the Sigean African Safari - and loved the Olympic Pool with water slides. We also made a day trip to the Pont Du Gard. Marseillan (just like this apartment) has the perfect mix of things for the kids but also elegance to suit the adults! A real gem! We will be back next year - thank you.
Clean, great for kids, modern kitchen and facilities, perfect location, really easy to deal with.
No off street parking
