This beautiful French property for long term rentals in South France, is located in the wine-making village of Gabian. The village is surrounded by vineyards in all directions and the nearby Faugeres wine appellation produces some of the best wines in the South of France. This stylish 4 bedroom long term rentals property comes with two large balconies, air conditioning, WiFi, satellite TV, a wood burner and a lovely open plan living room and kitchen. What immediately strikes you as you enter the house is the feeling of space and light throughout. The property has been lovingly restored by the Owner (who it is no surprise, is an Interior Designer). Gabian is a small village, but it contains a good range of services including a cafe-bar, bar-restaurant, pharmacy, boulangerie, small shop, wine cellar, school and a local Doctor. The nearby town of Roujan (3kms) contains a large range of facilities including, supermarket, garage, high school, medical centre, cafes and restaurants. The coast is 35 mins drive and the surrounding area has some of the best cycling and hiking routes in France. This French property is available for long term rentals throughout the year; including over the summer season (minimum rental period is 3 months).

This French property is located on a quiet lane leading from a small square in the old part of the village. You enter the Property up a set of stairs onto the first floor. You arrive into an open plan living room containing the lounge, dining room and kitchen. The tall French windows on either side of the house flood light into the rooms. The lounge contains a working fireplace, 2 sofas, TV with satellite channels, an armchair, coffee table and a reversible air conditioning unit. Large French windows lead out from the lounge onto the rear balcony which stretches the full width of the house. This is a sunny space overlooking a small impasse (pedestrian walk-way). Large interior doors lead from the lounge to an office-cum guest bedroom. The office contains a desk, wifi connection point, and sofa bed. Next to the office there is a laundry room and toilet. The laundry room has a washing machine, tumble dryer, Iron and Ironing board.

The large dining room contains a large wooden dining table that can seat up to 8 people, as well as a stylish sideboard. The dining room leads onto the fully-fitted kitchen that contains a breakfast bar, induction hob, oven, fridge-freezer, toaster and kettle. A set of French windows in the kitchen provide access out onto the front balcony. The balcony overlooks the 17th Century fountain on the Place Vieille and is a very sunny space.

A set of stairs leads up to the second floor where you will find four very spacious bedrooms, a family bathroom and an en-suite shower room. All the bedrooms contain new beds and fittings. The master bedroom contains a double bed, fitted wardrobes, bedside cabinets and a modern en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin. Bedroom 2 also contains a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bedroom 3 has been decorated in a loft apartment style with particle-board bedhead and industrial lighting. This bedroom has a double bed, large wardrobe and dressing table. The fourth bedroom currently contains a large single bed, but an additional single bed can also be installed to create a twin bedroom. All the bedrooms and landings contain have efficient modern electric radiators for heating.

Outside: the house is located on a quiet street and overlooks the ancient square of Place Vieille. The square has a lovely fountain and contains a number of parking places. At the rear of the property there is a 12 m2 store room which is useful for storing bikes and belongings. ground floor store room of 12 sq.m. A short walk down the street takes you to the local river, where you will also find additional parking places. The centre of the village is just 2 minutes walk in the opposite direction.

Last visited: March 2017. This really is a beautiful French property, well set-up for long term rentals. With air conditioning for the summer months and a wood burning fireplace, electric convection radiators and reversible air conditioning for the winter months; you are sure to be comfortable here all year around. The property is available for full 12 month rentals and provides very comfortable accommodation for a family, as well as space for guests. Gabian is a friendly little village with a surprisingly good range of local services. The local countryside is beautiful and you are not too far away from the beach, from the historic town of Pezenas and the metropolitan cities of Beziers and Montpellier.

Area activities

This French property for rentals long term in France is located in the quiet village of Gabian, which is surrounded by vineyards on all sides. From the terrace you have great views over the roof tops of the old centre of the village. In Gabian you can buy bread at the local bakery, do minor shopping at the grocery store or enjoy a refreshing drink in one of the village's two bars. The slightly larger town of Roujan is a 5 minute car ride away. There you can shop at the Super-U supermarket and enjoy lunch or dinner in the restaurants. The artistic town of Pézenas is 15 minutes away by car and it is well-worth visiting, especially on a Friday evening during the summer, when a large food and wine festival is held on the main street. The Saturday market is also really special.

In Languedoc, there are many things to do. The larger towns of Beziers, Narbonne and Montpellier are in close proximity. The Canal du Midi is a great place for a picnic or a bike ride along the tow path. The surrounding area is full of vineyards and wine cellars, with great wine-tasting everywhere. Surrounding Gabian, you will find many excellent cycling and walking routes.

Gabian is located on the D13, just 15 mins from the A75 motorway.
