This lovely long term rental property in France is situated just a few minutes' walk from the centre of the village, with its tree-lined square and fountain. The wine-producing village of Nizas is surrounded by vineyards in all directions. The village dates back to the Roman times and it was first referred to in manuscripts dating back to 1050 AD. Nizas is only 5km from the historic town of Pezenas which is famous for it's architecture and antique shops. In Pezenas you will find great food shops, restaurants and a lively market every Saturday. To the south of Nizas are the wide sandy beaches of the Mediterranean (25km), stretching endlessly either side of Cap d'Agde. The picturesque ports of Sete, Meze and Marseillan all have excellent seafood restaurants. To the north are the dramatic hills and gorges of the Languedoc National Park where you can trek, swim and canoe. To the southwest are the bustling towns of Bezier (25km) and Narbonne (50km). Finally towards the North East is Montpellier, the most vibrant and cosmopolitan city in the region. Just a little further on are the fascinating towns of Arles and Nimes.
Nizas itself has a shop which doubles as a post office, grocers and bakers. There are also a couple of wine cellars where you can sample the local wines and buy directly from the producers.
