Property description

Chateau de Lavail is an 10 bedroom chateau for rent on a monthly basis in the South of France. The Chateau is surrounded by lush countryside and comes with 6 hectares of land, including stables, paddock, CCTV, private swimming pool, sauna, Turkish bath, massage room and a professional fitness room. The Chateau is located in rural location in between Toulouse and Carcassonne, both of which can be reached in 40 mins.

The Chateau de Lavail was up until the 1950s a working vineyard. Prior to this, the original building was a monastery, dating back to the 13th Century. Archaeological remains have shown that the site was first settled by the Romans and an impressive villa once stood on the site. The Chateau is close to the village of Labastide d´Anjou, which was once the country residence of the Duke of Anjou, the second son of the King of France John II and younger brother of King Charles V.
