La Chartreuse des Moulins was built in 1870 as a post office stop-over building in the days when letters and parcels were delivered by horse and carts. The building is over 40 metres long and used to provide accommodation for the postal workers and their horses. Today the building provides 350 m² of living accommodation laid out over 2 floors

Ground floor

• The large entrance hall has exposed stone walls, an original stone sink and antique theatre seats.
• The impressive lounge is 40m2 and comes with 3 sofas, a large stone fireplace, exposed stonework and original beams. The room also has reversible air conditioning and a small TV. A small staircase leads up to the first floor.
• Next to the lounge, there is an equally large dining room with solid wooden dining table with seating for 10-12 people.
• The beautiful kitchen comes with many original features including exposed oak beams, vintage cupboard doors, terracotta tiled work surfaces and a large oak table. There is also a modern range cooker, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer. 
• Bedroom 1 is a lovely large double bedroom, with King-size bed, baby cot, stylish sofa and an original stone fireplace. 2 sets of French windows lead out to the garden.
• Next to the bedroom there is a large bathroom with full bath (with shower attachment), wash basin and walk-in shower.
• Bedroom 2 has a king-size double bed, a large day bed, exposed stone work around the windows and oak beams. The bathroom is contained within the bedroom and features a free-standing bath and wash basin. There is a separate WC.

First floor

• The beautiful Master bedroom is decorated with white walls and ceiling and a painted white floor. This decoration perfectly sets-off the beautiful oak carpentry of the roof supports. The bedroom has a King-size double bed, armchairs and antique wardrobe.
• There is a beautiful bathroom continues the crisp white theme, to contract against the exposed oak beams. The bathroom comes with a full bath (with shower attachment), walk-in shower and stylish wash basin. There is a separate WC.
• Bedroom 4 is a large double bedroom with en-suite shower room. The bedroom comes with the original stone fireplace, a vintage sofa and armchair. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, stylish wash basin and WC.
• Bedroom 5 is an enormous bedroom with 8 single beds. This room is a paradise for younger guests and perfect for sleepovers.

Outside

• In front of the house there is a large gravel courtyard with a large outdoor dining table and stylish patio furniture. Beyond the courtyard there is the garden and pool area. At each end of the courtyard there are 2 restored Dovecotes.
• There is a private heated swimming pool (10m x 5m). Next to the swimming pool there is a Jacuzzi. The pool area is fenced for security.
• There is a large playground for children with swings, a slide and a trampoline.
  
  

5 bed holiday rentals property in Dordogne with private pool - prices

La Chartreuse des Moulins can be rented on a weekly basis throughout the year. During July and August, the minimum stay is 7 nights (with Saturday changeovers preferred). During the rest of the year, the minimum stay is 5 nights. The maximum sleeping capacity is 14 guests. The rental price includes the linen, towels, and end of stay cleaning. The house comes equipped with baby & toddler equipment and toys for all ages. The pool heater is normally used during May-June and September-October.

The low season prices are based on an occupancy level of 4-6 people. Additional guests will be charged at €20 per per person per night. High rates will apply for Christmas, New Year and Public holidays.
