The apartment is just a short walk to the centre of Marseillan and the harbour area, where you will find plenty of restaurants, shops and bars. The beach at Marseillan Plage is just a 10 minute cycle ride along the banks of the lagoon.

The apartment is laid out over 2 floors and is located in a quiet neighbourhood, within easy walking distance of the town centre.
Ground floor
- The apartment has an open plan kitchen which comes with an oven, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine, kettle and toaster. The villa has a full set of plates, cutlery and cooking utensils.
- Next to the kitchen there is a dining area with a table that can seat 4 people.
- Down a few steps, there is a bathroom with a walk-in shower with wash basin. comfortable lounge has a corner sofa, armchair and open fireplace. T
First floor
- There is a large TV room/music room with a large collection of DVDs and CDs. The room has air conditioning.
- On the Mezzanine there is a bedroom with a double bed and Bang & Olufsen movie/music system.
- There is also a guest WC on this floor.
Outside
- There is a heated swimming pool (8m x 4m) which is normally open from mid-April to October.
- Next to the pool there is a covered terrace with patio table and chairs. There is a further terrace just off the dining room, overlooking the pool, which has a retractable awning
- Surrounding the villa there is a garden with mature trees, lawn and plenty of quiet seating areas
- There is parking for 1 car.

Marseillan apartment for rent in South France - Our Opinion
Last visited: December 2025. This apartment is located in the charming coastal town of Marseillan and is the perfect place to enjoy a short stay out of season. The Mediterranean beaches at Marseillan Plage are just 5km away and can be reached via a cycle path along the edge of the lagoon. Bezier Airport is just 15 mins away and there is a bus service direct to Marseillan. The TGV train station in the nearby town of Agde is just a short taxi ride and Montpellier is just 40 minutes away by car. The centre of Marseillan with all its cafes, bars, restaurants, port area, weekly market and wine shops is just a a few minutes' walk from the villa.

Marseillan is a ‘hidden gem’ on the Mediterranean coast, with a very pretty port and a long sandy beach a few kilometres away. Marseillan is steeped in history and is possibly the oldest village in France. The area was originally settled by the Greeks more than 2500 years ago and was a very active Roman commercial centre. Following the French Revolution, Marseillan founded one of the earliest free public schools in France.
Today, Marseillan is an exceptionally pleasant and attractive harbour town, one of the few remaining unspoilt ports in the South of France. There are about 15-20 places to eat, shops selling everything you need - boulangeries, pharmacies, greengrocers, fish, meat and everyday essentials (all within a short walk). There is a local market in Marseillan twice a week. On Tuesday morning Marseillan hosts a traditional market with food, clothing and housekeeping. On Friday evening Marseillan is taken over by the "marche artinasale" with all kinds of craftwork for sale - painting, clothing, handcrafts. There is a large supermarket on the edge of the town.
A few minutes walk away from the port is a small local park, tennis courts and a new selection of stylish but simple restaurants serving smoked moules, oysters and wine. By the park there is a water sports area where you can paddle board, kayak or learn to wind surf!
Travel a little further afield and you can visit the old port of Sete, historical Pezenas, the fabulous castle at Carcassonne, the old port town of Aigues Mortes, the beautiful town of Uzes and the dynamic Mediterranean city of Montpellier.
Other transport
There is a TGV train station 4kms away in the nearby town of Agde. Regular bus services run in between Agde and Marseillan. You can cycle down to the beach at Marseillan Plage along a cycle path.
