Estagel is the nearest village, with banks, shops, bars and a supermarket is just a 5 minute drive. The bustling centre of Perpignan is only a further 25 minutes away, while the Mediterranean beaches can be reached in less than three quarters of an hour.

The holiday home rental (183m2) has a large fully fitted luxury kitchen, with marble work surfaces, ceramic hob, microwave and electric ovens, dish washer, washing machine and a large American fridge-freezer. For outside dining there is the choice of two terraces, either in the sheltered courtyard with built-in barbecue, or on the large pergola-covered terrace overlooking the vineyards, garden and the swimming pool.

The farmhouse has a large comfortable living area leads off the kitchen and has a TV with UK Satellite and a selection of CDs and DVDs. There is Wifi internet throughout the Mas and the lighting system is fully adjustable to capture any ambience perfectly.

There are three large bedrooms all ensuite and with fully-fitted wardrobes. Downstairs the chambre olive has a double bed plus a day-bed suitable for a child. This room has French windows opening onto the outer courtyard making wheelchair access possible. It has a large shower room.

The two upstairs bedrooms share a further sitting area which has an extensive library of English books and opens onto a balcony with superb views of the surrounding hills and the Cathar Chateau Queribus. The chambre petit gris is double-aspect with views to the south west. The full-length windows look out over the gardens and up the valley. It has a bath, shower and twin washbasins. Chambre amande whose full-length windows overlook the inner courtyard and down the valley towards Perpignan, is available with either a king-sized double bed, or twin singles. It’s bathroom has a shower and twin washbasins.

There is ample parking, a 10 x 5 metre swimming pool with hardwood sunbathing deck, a large garden with with boule court.

Prices are weekly and include linen and towels. Changeover Day is normally on a Saturday, but this is negotiable out of high season, as are shorter bookings.

Holiday home rental is surrounded by vineyards and sitting on a small rise where the Agly valley opens out towards the plain of Roussillon, the mas has wonderful views in all directions. To the north the medieval castle of Queribus, looks down from the Rocs Nègres of the Corbières and to the south and west rise the foothills of the Pyrenees.

Being the southernmost & sunniest region of France, Roussillon is naturally famous for its wines, especially the rosés and sweet vins doux. Vineyards are visible in all directions from the gite. The scenery is stunning in all seasons and the area is perfect for exploration on foot, on horseback or by bicycle. Rock-climbing, canoeing and white-water rafting are also available further up the Agly valley in some spectacular river-gorges. A variety of beaches are reachable in under 45 minutes, from the full-on resorts of Le Barcarès or Canet to the long expanse of peaceful dunes near Toreilles. In winter the ski-ing resorts of Font-Romeu & Les Angles offering wonderful uncrowded cross-country and downhill ski-ing are around an hour & a half away.

Estagel, the nearest village, is about 3 kms. away and has a supermarket, baker’s, bars, chemists, post office, banks, indoor swimming pool, and hotel-restaurant. Other excellent restaurants are to be found in the nearby villages of Montner, Latour de France, Tautavel and Rivesaltes. The commercial area of Claira, has a Hypermarket, Bowling alley, multi-screen cinema, a Mc Donald’s and reputedly the largest outdoor go-cart track in Europe.
