This South France villa sleeps 12 people and is a village house with swimming pool and walled garden The South France villa has five bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on three floors and has a self contained gite. Situated in the village of Aumes just outside Pezenas and is ideally located for exploring the sites of the Languedoc region.

South France villa facilities:

On the ground floor is a large fully equipped kitchen/diner fully equipped including oven, hob, fridge, freezer, dish washer, microwave and toaster. The dining area has a long wooden table with 8 chairs. Off the kitchen is a utility room with a downstairs toilet plus washing machine and dryer. The kitchen leads to the living room with feature fireplace and comfy settees. There is satellite TV, DVD, CD and broadband internet access.

On the first floor is a large bathroom including bath and enclosed shower. The main bedroom looks out onto the garden and has a small balcony to sit and enjoy the evening sun. A further bedroom has a balcony onto the street below. The second floor has original terracotta tiled flooring and exposed stone walls with lovely views onto the surrounding Garrigue. There are two large twin rooms and a further bathroom with bath and shower screen. There is also a separate w.c.

New for 2011 is a self contained gite, for 4 people hence the villa can sleep 12.

An ancient stone high wall surrounds the garden which is laid to lawn with Mediterranean plants. The swimming pool is 8 by 4m and the villa is 210 m². There is various garden furniture and a BBQ.

South France villa - our verdict:

Last visited March 2011. This is a great South France villa near the beaches and Pezenas for a large family or two families holidaying together. Set amongst the vineyards this property is a great location for walking or cycling or visiting the other sites of the Languedoc region.

This South France villa is in Aumes which is a peaceful and pretty village, surrounded by vines and garrigue. If you are looking for accommodation from which you can walk or cycle straight in to the countryside then this is for you! On the other hand, 5 minutes by car takes you to the medieval town of Pézénas with its stretch of cafés ideal for watching the world go by and locally renowned Saturday market.

The house and surrounding village is perfect for families with children of all ages,very peaceful with no through traffic. Directly outside the garden is a lovely quiet square where children can happily play within earshot of their parents. There is also a tennis court, football pitch and play area for small children a short walk away in the centre. In addition there is a ping pong table and public BBQ area.

Benches are dotted around the village to just sit and take in the village atmosphere. There are lovely walking and cycling paths through vineyards and Garrigue just moments from the house which are perfect for summer evenings or early morning acitivity. Bikes are available for various ages, a great way to go to the Saturday Pezenas market via a small lane (approx 15 mins) The garden is great for swimming and relaxing with an essential pergola for a shady lunch and daybed for an afternoon siesta.

The local beach is Meze (10km away) can be followed by a meal in one of the restaurants specialising in seafood, especially the oysters from Bouzigues. The wealth of landscapes here makes for a very varied stay from the coast to the mountains with the rivers, lakes and gorges in between, not forgetting the Canal du midi. The village of Aumes itself is friendly and unspoilt.
