Casa Sola, vacation rental South France is situated just outside the small, rural village of Arles-Sur-Tech in the beautiful Pyrénées Orientales region of Languedoc Roussillon, nestling on the lower slopes of the Pyrenees with views of Mount Canigou and the surrounding foothills. It is 45 minutes drive from Perpignan and Mediterranean Sea and 25 minutes from the Spanish border. There are spectacular panoramic views from the terraces and the mountain garden. The pool has a wide sun terrace with sunbeds and stone built shade equipped with light and electricity. An additional above ground pool is located on the top secluded terrace with magnificent panoramic views. Table tennis and a gas BBQ are located on yet another wide terrace outside the self-contained apartment. To the rear of the property the garden area extends into over 4,000 sq. m. of privately terraced woodland.

All the rooms have been newly refurbished and furnished in a mixture of French and modern contemporary style. The villa is modern and spacious (204 m2.) Entrance door leading to fully equipped kitchen (fridge, dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave and fridge/freezer) open to dining room area with wood burning stove. Archway to lounge with satellite tv and dvd. Two sets of doors leading on to balconies with different aspects and views over the mountains. Hallway to double bedroom with en suite, single bedroom, and large family bathroom with shower, bath, toilet, basin and washing machine.

Upstairs to: 4 bedrooms - 2 double, 1 twin, 1 single, large bathroom with bath, toilet and basin.

The self contained apartment - available to rent separately and can sleep 3 and is available during the summer months, has 1 twin bedroom, sky TV, shower room with toilet and basin and a small open plan kitchen/diner. This apartment leads directly on to a large terrace having a different aspect to the pool areas and can be private and secluded.

Outside - All weather table tennis is provided as is a gas BBQ. There are 2 x swimming pools.

Last visited April 2009. If you are looking for a Vacation rental South France then this property is for you. It benefits from it's own private plunge pool, further above ground pool, terrace with stunning views and it is near the beaches. It easy to visit the other sites of the Languedoc from Casa Sola and visit Spain. The villa can easily accommodate 8 people with an additional apartment available if required.

The surrounding area of vacation rental South France is the Vallespir is the region in the eastern Pyrenees occupied by the Tech Valley. Arles Sur Tech (15 mins walk, 2 min drive) a climatic roman city with its richness of patrimony, traditions and natural surroundings. The Carolingian abbey of Ares-sur-Tech, founded in 778, is one of the oldest in Catalonia. Amelie Les Bains
The Spa Centre of the region. The sulphurous waters are said to be beneficial to health in many ways, especially in the treatment of rheumatism and lung disorders.

Céret (15 mins) - Céret is a laid-back town, dating from medieval times. It is a delightful spot, where the narrow cobbled streets of the old town are lined with plane trees, casting welcome shade into the squares where you can sit and enjoy the outdoor café life. It has the biggest Baroque church in Roussillon, a war memorial by Laillol and an elegeant 14th-century bridge over the river. Like Collioure, Céret was a favourite spot with many great modern artists, including Picasso, at the turn of the century.

Golf - The nearest course is La Domaine De Falgos at St Laurent De Cerdans approximately 17 kms (20 minutes) away. A beautiful golf course nestling in the Eastern Pyrenees.

Walking - There is easy access straight from the centre of the village to a number of trails for walking. There are a number of easy pr more challenging walks starting from the village, with picnic areas along the way.

Mount Canigou - A mountain peak towering over the orchards of Roussillon.

Food, restaurants and bars- There are bakeries in the village of Alres Sur Tech and the local Spa supermarket provides most provisions. There are a number of outdoor markets in the area; in Amelie Les Bains and notably in Céret on Saturday and Collioure on Wednesday and Sunday. You can buy fresh fish from the fishermen at the port in Argelés and Port Vendres everyday except Sunday and Monday.

There is a good choice of bars and restaurants in the neighbouring villages and towns mostly within 15 minutes drive. If you want to venture a little further afield, the Mediterranean coast is 35 minutes by car, where there is an excellent choice of restaurants, including some very good seafood restaurants, in Argelés, Collioure and Port Vendres.

Beaches - The nearest is Argelès with its 7-km long sandy beach, numerous activities for children and adults, and a 3-km palm-tree-fringed promenade for strolling (or cycling) along. North of Argéles is St Cyprien, which has a 3-kilometre long sandy beach and a pretty fishing harbour with lots of quayside restaurants and boats for hire.

Collioure is reputedly the prettiest town on the Côte Vermeille and there are 3 small beaches and a great choice of bars and restaurants. Just south of Collioure is Port Vendres, which is much more of a fishing harbour.

Vacation rental South France policies: The rentals are for a maximum of 8. The one bedroom apartment (sleeps 3) can be added to the booking for an additional family or additional guests. Please ask for special rates. 10% reductions late bookings - 2 weeks notice.

A non-refundable deposit cheque of 25% is required to secure the booking. Full rental must be paid 8 weeks in advance. A security deposit £350, will be required 7 days prior to arrival, held against breakages and damages to be returned within 7 days of your date of departure.
